There were live models hired so that attendees could sketch while not taking part in demos or listening to talks, an idea that started on paper and became this piece. Nothing ground-breaking here, but I'm quite pleased with it. Created in Painter and Photoshop, over about 10-12 hours in total, I think.

It started out as a pic of, well, whatever, to be honest, and then as it progressed it took on a more lofty pious ideal. Something to do with women in religion. Anyway, ain't perfect (you can't half tell it's digital), but some of the rendering is nice, I think.

However, I do enjoy the subversion of the beauty paradigm, especially seeing as curvy women are far more beautiful than the animated clothes hangars that modern fashion insists that women should aspire to be. Don't be fooled ladies, most of the guys who date these vapid insectoid mannequins only do so to impress their mates, are are ultimately doomed to live an unhappy, lonely existence watching Showtime with their flies undone. There, I said it.

Done entirely in photoshop, with an elliptical calligraphy brush in varying sizes. I may do more of these, there are a couple less finished variations on the sketch thread, but this is the first I think is worth a look in here. Enjoy.

Did this one for the Daily Sketch Forum- the subject was "Evil Versions of Disney Characters". I got the idea came from Sergio Leone, who cast Henry Fonda, the perennial all-American good guy, as stone-cold killer 'Frank' in "Once Upon A Time In the West". The Irony was lost on audiences at the time- almost no-one went to see it. Today it's recognised as the best western of all time (although personally, I call it the slowest).
Anyhow, I reckon Woody's been modelled closely on the kind of good guy Fonda made legend, I thought I'd mine it for irony just one more time.

This one is especially dedicated to anyone working as a floor salesman in any store selling big-screen TV's around the time 'Toy Story 2' came out on DVD. Yeehaa.
